I loved the room, the bed was exceptionally comfortable. The breakfast was free and very very good, there was a huge variety of food to chose from. Location: the hotel was close to an electrical outlet, and I35, Metro and Buses.

The hotel is quaint and exceptionally comfortable. The location is favorable, within a short walk to restaurants and other venues, and downtown Austin. The room is big and the bed is exceptionally comfortable, allowing for a comfy sleep. There are plenty of goodies for breakfast.

The one thing that was really disturbing...My husband really likes coffee. So, he decided to make a little coffee...but, the coffee pot was so dirty...it had mold in the pot. Also, when we were attempting to leave on Sat. Morning, we could not get out of the door. It seemed to be broken...so, we had to carry our luggage to the other end and then once outside ....go around the building to our car.

I liked the Mexican free-tail bats swooping around the breakfast area and the bugs falling from the ceiling.
The first thing I did not like was the lack of customer service. The receptionist refused to facilitate payment in cash, refused to make a call to a taxi company, supplied a phone number to a company that does not operate in the area, refused to re-swipe the hotel room key when it failed to open the door, and refused to admit guests to the room on the second night of the stay without production of a receipt, which of course, was stored in the room. Cleanliness was also an issue with the hotel room. Finally, we booked a hotel room with an extra bed to accomodate our group. However our room was allocated to another group leaving us one bed short. Again, customer service was lacking with a suitable room provided only after some time had passed and withou any apology or acknowledgement of a mistake.

No Ice or soda machines in my bldg. Ice cold shower on second day. Breakfast wasn't even a continental breakfast had to pour milk from a gallon jug on my cereal. Two doors down from mine there was an all night craps game going. If you want to buy crack and gamble this place is for you!!!!!

Good price, clean room and cental location
When we arrived we were given a dirty room with broken glass all over room. Clerk said we were not guaranteed a sofa bed when I selected Travelodge for that reason. Eventualy we were accomodated with a clean room and sofa bed after we complained.

Checking out
There is a cricket problem at the hotel which should be on the website and not the hotel reception where its to late to book elsewhere, used travelodge many times in other countries never a problem however would never use this on again, had a fousty smell from whenever you enter the reception area and the 2 x girls that checked us in were not very accademically clever took 15 minutes to register the room key then next day we were locked out as they charged 2 days and only registered us 1 day. NEVER AGAIN
